I have to agree...and when Atticus says, "Thank you for my children", I tear up every time!. T
hank you for being such a devoted poster to the blog. You might earn a homework pass to start the school year if you keep this up (you need 10 posts)!

I like that part too. I also like the part where Boo gives Scout the blanket because you can tell he is a caring human being. Even though people say bad things about him and his past, he doesn't let that bother him.

I just remembered another part I loved! When Scout and Jem go to Calphurnia's church, because even though some whites don't care for blacks, the blacks are still really nice to Scout and Jem instead of being hostile.

Maria: Your Shakespeare is showing! Everyone from English 8 Honors will be doing this: in JULIUS CAESAR, the name is Calphurnia; in TKM it is CalPURnia (no H).
The dangers of being overly scholarly :-)

I really liked the part at the end of the book when Scout is walking home with Boo Radley. I like how she sees herself in his shoes, seeing herself and Jem as they grow up. I like how she finally fully comprehends the advice that Atticus gave her.

My favorite part would have to be when Dill takes a sip out of Mr. Raymond's paper bag and realizes that it isn't alcohol. Then, Mr. Raymond explains to Scout, Jem, and Dill that he pretends to drink alcohol all the time to give the white people a reason to exclude him and give them an explaination to why he lives the way he does. This part in the novel helps Scout to learn that there can be misconceptions about certain people. An example not only being Mr. Raymond, but Boo Radley.

My favorite part in To Kill A Mockingbird is when Scout is talking to Mr. Heck Tate about when Mr. Ewell attacked her and Jem and she starts describing her rescuer. While you are reading the description, it's sort of obvious who she is talking about. But, there is that one part where she says, "Hey Boo." That just gives me the chills.

My favorite part is when, at the end, Atticus is reading the story to Scout. The story is about a boy who everyone thought was doing bad things, but in the end he was not the one doing it. I love how when Atticus says," Most people are,Scout, when you finally see them.", after Scout says that the boy in the story was actually nice, you realize that Atticus is also talking about Boo Radley being a nice person.

I also liked the part where Dill escaped from the Meridian and went all the way back to Maycomb, and how he was hiding under Scout's bed and she stepped on his hand and thought it was a snake.

I love the part where Aunt Alexandra comes to live with them and she is saying how Calpurnia shouldn't be with the kids because she is a bad influence. And really for the first time you see Atticus get annoyed at her and tell her that Calpurnia is a part of the family and she has just a right to be here then anyone else. This is kind of a random part in the book but to me it shows that even though Atticus is a soft-hearted guy he will stand up for what he knows is right.

i also like the part when Jem and Scout are walking back from the play and they think the person following them was Cecil Jacobs but it was really Mr. Ewell. The suspense is just amazing beause you have no idea what is going on or what is going to happen next...

Another one of my favorite parts in the book is when Arthur Radley is in the house with Scout after she and Jem get attacked and she treats him with such respect like she talks to him everyday. I love the last few chapters because they are really suspenseful and you don't know what is coming next.

I also really like the part where, after the fire, Scout finds a blanket on her and it turns out Boo Radley put it on her. I just think that it was a very nice part of the story.

I also liked some of the small funny parts like when Scout thinks the world is going to end because she sees snow. Also when she believes her Aunt when Aunt Alexandra tells her that babies are dropped down chimneys.

My favorite part of the book was when Scout thought that babies were dropped down the chimneys. It made me laugh out loud and everyone around me thought i was crazy!

i think that the part when Scout and jen were being chased with a knife was the best part. that was the first time the children met Boo and brought a great closing to the book.

"A lady?" Jem raised his head. His face was scarlet. "After all thoughs things she said to you, a lady?"
"She was. She had her own views about htings, a lot different than mine, mabye...son, I told you that if you hadn't lost your head I'd have made you go read to her. I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that ciurage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway you see it through no matter what. You raley win, but sometimes you do. Mrs.Dubose won, all nintey-eight pounds of her. According to her views, she died beholden to nothing and nobody. She was bravest person I ever knew."

I love the part in the end, when Scout's in the room, after Jem broke his arm, and she immediately knows who the man in the corner is, and without hesitation, or any fear she says, "Hey, Boo."

my favourite part is probably the trial when atticus gives his speech on equality .He said so many important points that needed to be said ,but what i found fascinating is his choice of timing and the fact he said it to such a large crowd at such a negative time .He didn't hesitate .it was truly satisfying to hear him speak out about equality. He didn't even consider if maybe he should stay quiet and cherish what has been left of his good reputation."gentlemen,a court is no better than each man of you sitting before me on this jury" .He said it confidently ,loud and clear."all men are created equally " .
