I have a question about tonights grammar hw. For the sentence that is, the pair in front covers the pair in back. Is this a double rocket ship? I'm confused if on what the subject is. I know the verb is covers.
Hey Miss Arney.. I did the grammar homework that I messed up, but I forgot to hand it in at the end of the period today. Is it ok if I give it to you on Monday?
For the grammar homework over break I get the differnce between transitive and intransitive verbs but I can not recognize them on the sheet. They all look transitiive to me.

Elisha I think the subjects are the pair in front and the pair in back.
Also on tonights grammar is the subject animals and verb move?
Girls: I just got home from school. If you're still working on this:
AVOID PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES. THEY DO NOT COUNT AS THE SUBJECT!!!!!
When do we have to memorize the helping verbs by?
SO for the grammar hw tonight there might be no word in the third column because there is sometimes just linking verbs?
Right! Some of them are just action verbs (no direct objects); in that case the "is" or "were" are helping verbs!

heyy can we go over some of the questions on the grammer homework because I dont't understand some?
I agree with Julie. Do all of the questions have direct objects?

Transitive Verbs are action verbs that have a direct object.
Intransitive verbs are verbs that do not have a direct object.
Okay so would that mean that all sentences with linking verbs are intransitive because they don't have direct objects?
Good girl, Katie! Yes, linking verbs are always intransitive because they can never take a direct object.
Ok thank you
